Important new book on Transcendental Meditation

The most important new book on Transcendental Meditation for decades is coming to South Africa early next year, but can already be ordered from the USA. Its title is Transcendence: Healing and Transformation through Transcendental Meditation.  The author is Dr Norman Rosenthal, a world-renowned psychiatrist who was the first to identify and treat Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD. He notes: ‘I am not a TM insider. I’m as mainstream as it’s possible to be!’ The book is already becoming a best-seller in the USA.

New book, Transcendence

The book will appeal  to newcomers and to well-experienced meditators alike, and includes interviews with well-known figures such as Paul McCartney, Russell Brand, Martin Scorsese and others. Professor Rosenthal draws on his own clinical experience with fascinating anecdotes, as well as the scientific research on the benefits of TM in promoting cardiac health, reducing anxiety and depression, and helping people suffering from traumatic stress and addiction.

Professor Rosenthal just completed a research study on Transcendental Meditation in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder among US veterans, published in May 2011 in Military Medicine.
