Transcendental Meditation is so easy and natural. Everyone can learn to meditate in just a few days with regular meditation classes. TM is easy to learn; however, a gentle helping hand is needed for the first few steps. This unique meditation technique is learned one-on-one from a fully qualified and experienced Transcendental Meditation teacher.
The Transcendental Meditation Course takes place over 4 consecutive days, with sessions lasting around 2 hours, at convenient times. Free follow-up is provided for a year.
Learn how to meditate
The first step is to attend a free introductory talk – which will answer all your questions. We discuss the benefits of the TM Technique, all the research on it, how it differs from other forms of meditation, and why TM is so valuable for life. We also discuss the mechanics of the technique, how it works and why it’s so effortless and enjoyable to practise.
- Introductory talks are held most Tuesdays at 5:30pm

The talk is free and there is no obligation; but booking is essential.
What is Transcendental Meditation?
Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural, effortless procedure practised for 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. It is the most widely practised, most researched, and most effective method to reduce stress and develop one’s full potential. Transcend means ‘to go beyond’: beyond thought, to a silent reservoir of energy and creativity within. After meditation you feel refreshed, alert, and your activity is more enjoyable and fulfilling. Group Meetings
If you have already been instructed in Transcendental Meditation, you enjoy a free follow-up programme of meditation classes for a year at the Somerset West TM Centre. This will give you extra breathing techniques (pranayama), yoga classes and a wonderful variety of lectures and discussion to inspire you and deepen your meditation experience.

One-Day Courses
Transcendental Meditation Deepening Days: We hold regular deepening days for meditators, consisting of a perfect balance of gentle yoga postures, Pranayama (breathing exercise) and extra meditation along with inspirational tapes and discussion. It’s a wonderful day of profound rest and healing to deepen your TM experience and recharge your batteries.
